Himalayan Tahr in Chopta–Tungnath

Among Meadows and Blooming Rhododendrons

As winter recedes, the meadows of Chopta awaken. Rhododendrons paint the slopes in red and pink, and in this abundance, the Himalayan Tahr moves with quiet grace. Heavy-bodied, sure-footed, they browse where forests thin into sky.

To walk here in March and April is to see the Himalayas both wild and tender — a place where the fierce and the delicate share the same air.

Why Chopta–Tungnath

Season of Bloom: Rhododendrons in full flower against snowy ridges.
Wild Elegance: Himalayan Tahr in their natural habitat.
Sacred Landscape: The trek to Tungnath is itself a pilgrimage.

The Spirit

The Tahr does not announce itself. It appears, blends, vanishes.
A reminder that the wild is not performance,
but presence.
